Plastic vs. Metal Sports Sunglasses

For anyone who plays a sport you know it is important to protect your eyes from the sun and it makes game play a lot easier. You want to make sure that you pick a style that’s best for you. Metal frames can be made with aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel. Metal frames are typically corrosion resistant and are very light weight due to the frames being thin. Plastic frames can be made from nylon and polycarbonate. These plastic frames can be a little more bulky, and depending on the sport it is possible they could break really easily. Metal frames are sleek and stylish so you would be able to wear them on a regular basis and not just while playing sports. Being active it is nice to have the lightweight frame so the sunglasses do not fall off your face or move. They are easily adjusted on the spot without having to go to the optometrist to have them adjusted. While plastic frames can come in many colors making them unique and fun, they aren’t always the best for an active sport. A plastic frame cannot be as easily adjusted when compared to metal frames. It is also possible that the frames will age and the strength will diminish due to too much sun exposure. In the end it comes down to what you personally like style wise, but hopefully some of this will help you make a solid decision on whether to buy plastic or metal sports sunglasses.
